Frozen Foods Manager

SUMMARY
This position directly manages tactical and strategic initiatives in the Frozen Foods Business Unit in accordance with established company procedures, quality standards, and government or regulatory guidelines

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Takes direct ownership of all tactical and strategic management of the Frozen Foods manufacturing operations (Assembly and Packaging). This includes management of initiatives related to: Employee relations, First Pass Quality, food safety, GMP’s, cost per case, budgeting, inventory accuracy, employee safety, line efficiency, downtime, training, production scheduling, and throughput optimization.
  • Responsible for implementation of controls and procedures as established by R&D, Engineering, or Quality Assurance. Audits procedures to ensure accuracy, and follows up with Frozen Foods Supervisors when needed.
  • Focuses on initiatives to maintain “friendly” work environment.
  • Maximizes production output while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Evaluate manufacturing operations for efficiency or process improvement.
  • Constructively and expeditiously resolves employee conflicts.
  • Follows up on employee suggestions and complaints in a timely manner, ensuring to close the communication loop with employees. Maintains a positive work environment.
  • Simplifies information flow to ensure smooth distribution of information and communication. Organizes cross-functional meetings between departments as needed.
  • Conducts training and development of Supervisors and Team Leaders. Assists in the development of hourly employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree and four years minimum related experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment; or the equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast moving environment
  • Proven supervisory/management experience
  • Must be bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
