MAINTENANCE MECHANIC I - 1st shift

SUMMARY
Performs routine repair, modification and preventive maintenance tasks on buildings facilities, equipment, fixtures and systems, minimizing production downtime due to mechanical reasons through quick response.
Utilizes a wide variety of hand, portable and machine tools to perform assignments.
Run services to new or relocated equipment (air, water, electrical).  Perform non-certified welding and simple machining operations incidental to repair and maintenance tasks.

RESUMEN
Realiza tareas rutinarias en la reparación,  modificación y mantenimiento preventivo de instalaciones, equipo, accesorios y sistemas, minimizando tiempo muerto de producción por razones mecánicas a través de una respuesta rápida a los problemas.  Para cumplir con sus tareas, utiliza una amplia variedad de herramientas de mano, portátiles y de máquina. Proporciona servicio a equipo nuevo o cambiado de lugar (aire, agua, electricidad). Incidentalmente realiza soldadura no certificada  y usa en operaciones simples el torno eléctrico..

QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a well rounded and experienced knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment and materials used in assigned skill area.  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.   Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Must be available to work Graveyard shift.
