Students across America continue to let children
of South Asia know they care about them after the
tsunami hit their region on December 26th. Scores
of students have banded together in small towns and
big cities to help children half a world away by
holding a variety of fundraisers from fashion shows
to penny collections to send to Save the Children's
Asia Earthquake / Tsunami Relief Fund.

In the weeks that followed the tsunami that devastated
parts of Asia , Save the Children received over $200,000
from student-run fundraisers held in almost 1,000
schools nationwide; and more fundraisers are planned
in the near future.
“We are inspired by the outpouring of support
by the many children reaching out to help the children
affected by the tsunami.” said Charles MacCormack,
president and CEO of Save the Children. “These
generous donations will go a long way in providing
the children affected by this disaster with the tools
they need to rebuild their lives and community.”
