Directions

  1. Follow the directions for defrosting the puff pastry.
  2. For the filling, melt the chocolate bars and coconut milk in a saucepan over low heat.  This will take about five minutes. Leave to cool to room temperature.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients together. Add them to the chocolate mixture.
  4. Take out the puff pastry and lay it out flat with the long edge facing you. Spread out the chocolate and spice mixture on the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch margin at the top with no mixture.
  5. Starting from the bottom, roll up the puff pastry until it looks like a jelly roll. Seal at the edge by brushing the exposed pastry dough with ice water and roll it over so that the seam is at the bottom.
  6. Chill in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350℉.
  8. Take the pastry out of the freezer. Using a very sharp knife, cut the dough into 1-cm-thick slices. Place slices on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes until puffy and golden brown.

Pro tip

Want to make this recipe vegan? All you need to do is sub regular puff pastry for vegan puff pastry. For extra spiced flavor, add a tablespoon of chai tea to the Dreamy Candy and coconut milk mixture.
